Spine

Date / Time: Sunday, March 11th 1 – 3:30 at Just Yoga

Optimal mobility is a balance of STRENGTH and FLEXIBILITY.  Come learn the 6 directions of movement needed for a healthy spine.  This gentle joint flow will help you identify what your available range of motion is and what you’re feeling – tension or compression.  We’ll apply this new understanding to the backbends, twists & sidebends used in our yoga practice.  We’ll also strengthen and lengthen all 4 sides of the torso.

You’ll leave this workshop with:

  • A greater awareness and appreciation of your spine
  • What movements and ranges of motion your spine prefers and allows
  • Differences between sides
  • How to apply this to the yoga classes you attend and your daily life
  • Insight on how to communicate with your health care team (doctor, massage therapist, physical therapist etc) about what you’re feeling
  • A JOINT FREEING SERIES booklet summarizing the concepts covered

For existing yoga teachers, this workshop counts towards 2.5 CEUs with Yoga Alliance. 

Legs – Hips, Knees, Ankles

Date / Time: Sunday, April 22nd 1 – 3:30 at Just Yoga

Optimal mobility is a balance of STRENGTH and FLEXIBILITY.  Come learn the directions of movement needed for healthy hips, knees and ankles.  This series will help you identify what your available range of motion is and what you’re feeling – tension or compression.  We’ll apply this new understanding to the postures used in hatha, yin & restorative practices.  We’ll also learn how to strengthen and lengthen.

You’ll leave this workshop with:

  • A greater awareness and appreciation of your hips, knees, and ankles
  • What movements and ranges of motion your body prefers and allows
  • Differences between sides
  • How to apply this to the yoga classes you attend and your daily life
