What is Qigong?

Qi is LIFE FORCE ENERGY.  Gong is SKILL.  Qigong is the skillful practice of applying life force energy. Medical Qigong is one of the four branches of Chinese medicine.  It includes the movements that you have experienced in my classes as well as energy healing table sessions.

Qigong healing energy sessions, regular movement (such as qigong or yoga) and meditation practices help return our layers of being (and our qi) to a more harmonious state.

What is Qigong private class?

These private sessions may be done in person or long distance using Skype, Google Hangouts, or Facebook Messenger.  I’ll design a routine that targets your specific concerns using the map of Traditional Chinese Medicine (5 element theory, meridians lines and organ systems).   Each session will include:

  • Pre-class check in to understand what is going on for you a couple days before your appointment
  • Qigong sequence (option to include yin or restorative yoga)
  • Supporting documentation if you’d like to practice on your own (electronic booklets that explain the practice, sample sequences for Qigong & Yin and in document links to helpful YouTube videos for exercises and meditations)

What is a Qigong energy table session?

These private sessions may be done in person or long distance.  Using the map of Traditional Chinese Medicine (5 element theory, meridians lines and organ systems), each session includes:

  • Assessing, cleansing, restoring and balancing the energy body to help transition ineffective energetic patterns which may manifest as various physical, mental or emotional discomforts
  • Supporting documentation if you’d like to practice Qigong movement on your own to support your energy session (electronic booklets that explain the practice, sample sequences for Qigong & Yin and in document links to helpful YouTube videos for exercises and meditations)

In Person Qigong Energy Table Session

Pre-Session Check In

  • We’ll settle in, with a cup of tea, and discuss how I may support you given what you are experiencing in the physical, mental, and emotional layers of your being.  We’ll set an intention for our time together.

Table Session

  • You will rest reclined, on a comfortable massage table, fully clothed.  I’ll guide you through a meditation to become more present in your body.  The energetic session will focus on cleansing, restoring and rebalancing the energetic body.
  • During parts of the in-person sessions, my hands may gently touch the body (e.g. a gentle cupping of the hands over the knees or a hand underneath the lower back).  I am not massaging or physically manipulating the physical tissues of the body like in massage.  Part of the time, my hands are off the body, focusing on the energetic fields surrounding it.  If you prefer not to be touched or touched in a specific area, please let me know.

Post-Session Check In

  • We’ll discuss anything that came up during the session.  I’ll share optional self-care tips to support your layers of being at home.

Long Distance Qigong Energy Table Session

Pre-Session Check In

  • Over email, phone or online video programs (e.g. Skype, Facebook messenger, Google Hangouts) we’ll discuss how I may support you given what you are experiencing in the physical, mental, and emotional layers of your being.  We’ll set an intention for our time together.

Energy Session

  • Rest on your bed, couch or the floor.  Make yourself comfortable.  We can stay connected via phone or online video program or we can sign off so that you can experience the session without technology.  The energetic session will focus on cleansing, restoring and rebalancing the energetic body.

Post-Session Check In

  • Over email, phone or online video program, we’ll discuss anything that came up during the session.  I’ll share optional self-care tips to care for your layers of being at home.
